How it Works
You’ll join a group of professional actors who will guide you on your quest to solve the mystery. After kicking off the show with the entire group, you’ll be separated into smaller teams and have the chance to interview key players one by one. Once you’ve had a chance to speak to each person involved in the murder, you’ll discuss with your team and craft your hypothesis. After each team presents their findings and conclusions, the truth will finally be revealed!
The team or teams that guessed correctly get ultimate bragging rights over everyone else.
About The Show
You have been charged with interviewing the townspeople, peeling back the layers, and discovering what really happened last Friday night. Find out the truth and write a headline worthy of the front page!
The Setting: River Crossing, Carolina, a fictionalized community deep in the American South. It’s a three-cop town with a small, close-knit population. The inhabitants are a rough split between upper-class landowners and lower-middle-class farmers and their families, all of whom have ancestral roots in the area that run hundreds of years deep.
It is a homely little hamlet, living a few decades behind the rest of the country, and last Friday night, between 9:45 pm and 10 pm, Ursula Fitzroy, the most influential person in town, was murdered.
Event Information
Virtual and In-Person Options: This experience suits a virtual, hybrid, or in-person format.
Timing: If you have specific time requirements or constraints, please let us know when you book.
- Group sizes of up to 50 people should be planned for 90 minutes.
- Group sizes of up to 100+ people should be scheduled for 2 hours.
Tech Level: Basic technical experience is recommended for our virtual or hybrid format experiences.
Participants: Kicking off our experience, we gather in the main room, a central hub for excitement. Our expert facilitators will then skillfully split participants into teams of roughly equal size. In a thrilling interrogation game, these teams will venture into their own spaces – breakout rooms in a virtual setting or separate areas in a physical venue – to question all the suspects. For the grand finale, everyone reconvenes in the main room, whether it be our primary virtual space or the central area of the in-person venue. Here, teams will engage in lively discussions, piecing together clues and sharing their theories to unravel the mystery of the actual culprit!
Note: There is only one fantastic version of Murder at River Crossing Book Club. If you’ve played this before, please consider another experience.
